Preparing a Civil and Concrete Bid Package
A good bid package helps bidders price the same work. Clear documents, scope boundaries, schedule information and questions reduce avoidable comparison gaps.

Issue the best available project information.
Include the current drawings, specifications, addenda, bid form and any relevant geotechnical, survey or utility information. Identify which documents govern if conflicts exist.
When a detail is pending, describe the assumption you want bidders to use or invite a specific alternate. Leaving major conditions unstated can make proposals difficult to compare.
Define trade boundaries and owner-furnished items.
Civil, utility, concrete, paving, demolition and restoration scopes often meet at the same work area. Clarify who owns layout, utility locates, permits, testing, traffic control, haul-off, dewatering, erosion control and final cleanup where applicable.
This does not mean every project needs the same list. It means the bid request should reflect the actual coordination needs of this project.
Give bidders the schedule and site constraints.
State the bid due date, expected start window, milestone dates, work hours, site access limits, occupied-area restrictions and any required phasing. These factors can influence mobilization, crew planning and material delivery.

Evaluate scope alignment before award.
